Batch and settlement fees

Some providers charge when transactions are submitted as a batch. Check the count and the agreed fee.

A batch groups transactions for submission into processing and settlement. Some providers charge a fee per submitted batch. Your business’s terminal and gateway setup can affect how many batches are submitted.

To check a batch fee, compare the billed count and unit charge with your agreement and batch records. A business with several terminals or locations may have more than one batch in a day. Do not assume that one calendar day always equals one billed batch.

If a statement lists only a total, ask for the count and rate that produced it. If the charge changed, check both the rate and the number of batches before concluding that pricing increased.

Monitor changes between statements. The monitor shows billed differences; your batch records help establish the cause.
